Guidelines for faculty-student relationships

Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies is actively committed to preventing sexual harassment, gender-related violence, abuse of power or authority, and conflict of interest.

Following faculty and university regulations, the Department has set clear guidelines for faculty-student relationships and informed all department members about them. In particular, we draw attention to the incompatibility of intimate relationships with teacher's objective and unbiased approach towards students at all stages of their studies (Bc., MA and PhD).

If an intimate relationship arises between a teacher and a student, the teacher is obliged to report it to the Head of Department immediately and take all steps to minimize the conflict of interest.

We assure students that if they approach the Head of Department with a report of sexual harassment, gender-related violence, abuse of power and authority, conflict of interest, or similar situations, we will create a safe environment to report the incident, offer professional psychological assistance, investigate the report thoroughly, and prevent secondary victimization. The Department considers violations of the above rules severe and is prepared to take organizational and personnel consequences in response to the investigation´s results.
