What is the required length of the dissertation?
According to university regulations, the dissertation must be at least 234,000 characters including spaces (approximately 130 standard pages) and no more than 1,000,000 characters (about 550 standard pages).

What citation style should I use?
You may use any citation style that is standard and functional within your field, as long as it is applied consistently throughout the work. There is no requirement to use the Czech ISO 690 standard – styles like Chicago, APA, or MLA are all acceptable. Both footnotes and in-line citations are allowed, depending on the chosen style.
How long before defense should I submit the manuscript of dissertation?
The formal deadline is two months prior to the planned defense, so for defense at the and of August, that means June 30th. However, it is strongly recommended to allow three months for reviewers, so in this case, the latest advisable submission is mid-June. Note: What matters most is submitting the final PDF version that can be sent to the reviewers. Printed copies for the administrative office can be submitted slightly later.
Can I propose external reviewers?
Yes, Ph.D. students may suggest external reviewers, but whether these suggestions are accepted is not guaranteed. Proposals are welcome, especially if they are discussed and mediated by the supervisor. Ideally, the suggestion should result from a joint decision between the student and the supervisor.
